William Irvine departed from the Faith Mission in Ireland. He spoke seductively that Jesus was not the Prophet foretold by Moses. William Irvine told others that he was that Prophet. William Irvine taught doctrines of the devil, causing people to suffer needlessly and keeping them from entering into the kingdom of heaven. He was a false prophet and not of God. William Irvine started the 2x2 movement in 1897. He was helped by George Walker, Irvine Weir and Edward Cooney. He claimed he got a special revelation called his Alpha Message and later his Omega message. He began teaching that people could only be saved if they sold everything, gave it to him, and went out in pairs to preach the same message. Some of his followers believe that William Irvine was the prophet foretold by Moses, and not Jesus Christ. :( | ||||||
