Chuck

Chuck lives with Brandon Miller. Do you know Chuck who used to be a worker?

I told Brandon that the overseers ask for all the workers money at conventions (my experience in Oregon and Montana while a worker). Also, Curtis Jacobsen told me that the overseers asked for all his money at conventions too.

Brandon Miller told me the following (among other things about Chuck:

I asked Chuck (my roommate) about the overseers taking money from the "other" workers and he said that the only thing was he would go to the store and buy supplies for the conventions from what he had received throughout the year.
He said that he never once was asked from an overseer for money.

That's really interesting. Which would be worse? A bum who asks for your money? or A bum who asks you to take all your money, go buy him beer and cigarettes and then give it to him?

Personally, I think it's more work to take all my money and then go buy for them what they want. I see from what Brandon writes that Chuck would use his money that he received throughout the year to buy supplies for the conventions.

My Questions:
  1. Who did Chuck get this money from?
  2. Why does Chuck have to use all his money for this convention if church buildings are so evil?
  3. Where are "conventions" in the Bible?
  4. When did Chuck come up with the idea of saving up his money to buy supplies for convention?
  5. Why didn't Brandon mention anything about how the overseer directs what is done at conventions?
  6. What difference does it make if the overseer asks for the money directly or if the overseer asks an older worker to take all your money or if a worker tells you to take all your money and buy supplies for the conventions with it?
  7. Was Chuck asked by a worker to do this? (since Brandon claims it wasn't an overseer?) or was this Chuck's idea?
  8. Why doesn't Chuck become a worker again? If he can hold a job, why can't he be a 2x2 worker?

I grew up in the Workers' Way and saw that the workers very softly and sweetly taught subtle lies in guile; I learned to associate "kindness" and "nice"-acting people with lies. I became confrontational to get answers. Now I'm learning to speak the full truth in love.
