Characteristics of 2x2s when you talk to them:
  • Afraid to sit down with Bible and go over doctrine.
  • Refusal to verify facts and things that you have personally witnessed. They may say that you are telling lies, but cannot give any reasons. They just want to discredit your witness so that they don't have to believe in Jesus Christ.
  • Give excuses not to verify facts. They may ask for phone numbers. When you give them phone numbers, then they may say they will pray for them. But they don't want to talk and find out what you are saying is true.
  • They are afraid to talk about their beliefs in any detail.
  • Afraid to answer direct questions. Fear of knowing what they belive
  • Very ambiguous and vague in answers
  • Use distraction to avoid questions they don't want to think about
  • Give excuses for not reading newspaper articles published about cult beginnnings
  • Believe lies instead of historical facts
  • Don't want their beliefs published
  • Give general verses to answers like "10th chapter of gospels describe ministry"
  • They are powerless to use scripture unless the people have already been brainwashed and use redefined cult jargon/ words in the verses
  • Don't like knowledge
  • Don't like presence of holy spirit, knowledge of God or people who have strong love for God and each other.
  • Are afraid of being around people who love God. Prefer meetings with cult members.
  • Give vague answers to questions
  • State beliefs that contradict other beliefs
    I grew up in the Workers' Way and saw that the workers very softly and sweetly taught subtle lies in guile; I learned to associate "kindness" and "nice"-acting people with lies. I became confrontational to get answers. Now I'm learning to speak the full truth in love.
